2nd International Sood Mela was a big draw in Canadian terms. We had guests coming over from Rochester Hills in Michigan State of the USA. We had guests from as far as Windsor. There were some new families joining us this time. Ms.Dolly Sood-Konzelmann was the emm cee who conducted the program very well.Mr.Kashmiri (Kash) Lal Sood was the Guest of honour and also the host. Kash Sood is a very big business man who also owns the Bollywood Banquet Hall which was the venue. Kash promised all the help to SONA. A very small gesture from his side was to match and top up the donations for that day.The donations collected were over a thousand dollars. VK Sood came to canada with his family to attend the Mela. But he had to leave back for India for some unavoidable reasons. Therefore, he did not attend the Mela. However, his wife, Varsha Sood, did attend Mela along with their two sons, daughter-in-laws and Grand Children. Deepali, their daughter, could not make it to the mela. College girls gave a sensational dance performance which enthralled one and all. Dr.Gagan Bhalla, Orthodontist and Co-Ordinator of Pitanjali Yoga Peethh-Canada, presented a book of Baba ramdev to Kash Sood. He also gave a discourse on the importance of Pranayaam. Sanjay Sood was unanimously announced as the Financial Advisor of SONA. Sanjay hails from Shimla. Anjana Sood, wife of Bharat Bhushan Sood, took care of the registeration. Renu Kashyap-Hira Ahuja sponsored the gifts-thanks.All the guests were served with snacks and sumptuous dinner-Courtesy Amy and Kash Sood. ____________________________________________________________________________
VAISAKHI FEST 2008- PICTURES AND DETAILS
Ms.Irene Corridore, executive to the Member Parliament, Honorable Paul Zsabo was the Guest of Honour. She read the message from the M.P and applauded the services of many of SONA members.
Harpreet Chouhan and Ms.Maninder Dhillon-Chouhan were given away titles of Bharat Gaurav for their self less contribution in YOGA through “Art of Living”.
Mr.Kashmiri (Kash) L Sood was the honoured guest who assured of all the possible help to SONA. He ,very kindly, consented to host 2nd International Sood Fest at his Banquet Hall at Scarborough-Toronto.
A special guest, Mr.Sohan Parmar, was recognized because of his father’s contribution at Jaijon Doaba, a historical township in district Hoshiarpur, having many Sood families living there till 1960. Most of the families moved out in pursuit of trade or jobs.
Abhimanyu Sud was conferred upon “Sood Gaurav” at the Vaisakhi Fest, held on 6th April, 2008, for his selfless contribution to Art of Living Foundation, Toronto, Canada. It is really great to dedicate oneself for a social cause at such a young age.

Mrs.Indu Sood won the “Female-Best Ethnic Dress Competition, held at Vaisakhi Fest on 6th April, 2008. Dolly sood-Konzelmann (left), Emm Cee for the occasion, is giving away the award. Jyoti Grewal-Sood (Right) was the Chief Judge.
Mr.Prabhat Sood won the Best Ethnic Dress competition in mens’ category.
Mrs. Vijay Mahindra, resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan State, USA, was the first runner up in women’s category. Her husband, Ravi Mahindra (Right) is accompanying her for the photo session.
Mr.Ashok Sood, resident of Windsor and President of “Cleaning Depot”- a brand name in Canada, bagged the 1st runner up title in men’s category.
Orthodontist,Dr.Gagan Bhalla and hsi wife, Uma Bhalla, were conferred upon the titles of “Bharat Gaurav” at the Vaisakhi Fest, for their whole hearted contribution to Baba RamDev’s Pitanjali Yog Peeth chapter of Canada and the USA. Gagan is also the Co-ordinator for the Canadian Chapter of Pitanjali Yoga Peeth. Award given away by Dolly (Left) and Dr.Bhushan Sood, Executive Director, is escorting.

Anjana and Bharat Bhushan Sood received a special certificate on behalf of his daughter and son-in-law; Ruchi Sood & Rishi Patel.
Brij Bhushan and Rohini received a special award on their union.

All good wishes to you Probably you must be aware of a book: ORIGIN OF SOODS - A CRITICAL ANALYSIS by Shri Ram Rattan Sood. I had also read an article - The Soods in Shimla in two parts, written by Dr. Pamela Kanwar, who has been on the faculty of the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration, Shimla and has been Fellow, Indian Institute of Advanced Study Shimla. She is the author of IMPERIAL SHIMLA, published by the Oxford University Press. In my opinion there should be ample scope to research, edit and incorporate authenticate facts and a comprehensive book could be published n the History of the SOODS without distortion. Nursing is not a science degree but rather training for a specific profession. There is absolutely no point in going to nursing school if you plan on being a dentist.It would be a waste of time and money and you would be taking a spot in nursing school away from someone who actually wants to be a nurse.

Occasionally at times I had dental insurance they’d cover up to a certain amount per year (most plans cap it at one thousand, others two.) Of course, that includes all the other dental work included over the course of a year, not just crowns. Without insurance I just paid privately. But I must warn you, if you are having it done specifically for cosmetic purposes, they will NOT cover the procedures at all. Mine had to have series of x-rays, photos and dentist’s reports for the teeth in question just to prove that my work was necessary, not cosmetic. In fact I had coverage for one tooth declined for that very reason. As for a loan, ask the dentist office. I’m sure they have financing steps they will help you through.
